Conics Sections in the Real World
Conic Sections are figures that are formed by intersections on a right circular cone. A Conic Section can either be a porabola, an ellipse, a circle, or a hyperbola depending on the angle of the intersection throught the cone. Here we will observe real world examples of each conic sections man made and made naturally.
What are Conic Sections?

Ellipses
This example of an ellipse is a man made example and is a recognizable ellipse by many people in todays world. An ellipse is found in the logo of this major car brand and displays a good example of ellipses in the real world as many people might have already noticed it. This example is not really significant to us, but to the car company themself as it is an iconic symbol that many people can recognize and notice in the real world that almost promotes this car company so that other people will know their name and will know of their products.
This is an example of a naturally made ellipse that influences are lives in a big way. Many people may not know this but the moon rotates in the shape of an ellipse around Earth and contributes to things we might not even notice the moon does for us. The moon is significant to us because it is what lights up the sky at night and is also responsible for the currents and tides of the oceans on Earth due to the gravitational force of the moon. Without it, we would not have any light at all during the night on any night and the currents and tides of the oceans would be messed up due to the lack of gravity acting upon them and could lead to chaos in the world with extreme uncontrollable, unpredictable tides that could wipe out populations and habitats that were naturally formed because of the moon so knowing it or not, the moon is very important to everyone on Earth and will continue to be thousands of years to come.
Conclusion
From doing this project and doing the research that I've done, I have expanded my knowledge of conics past the classroom into everyday life. I have learned more about conic sections in general and how they can be represented in many different forms in many different places. Above all else I have learned about conic expression and how conics influence the world we live in more than ever before with examples that were made by man and others that were made naturally.
